What gets done on a maintenance visit
- Oil and filter. The right weight and the right spec for what you drive, not whatever was cheapest by the case.

- Belts and hoses looked over. A serpentine belt that is cracking is a five minute look and a roadside breakdown avoided.

Why the interval on the sticker is not always right
Most modern engines running full synthetic genuinely go a long way between changes. But the number on the windshield sticker assumes a car that gets driven, warmed up all the way, and cruised at a steady speed.
Short trips around Conway that never get the engine fully warm, stop and go on 501 in season, idling in summer heat, and towing all count as severe service.
